About PlayCraft

At PlayCraft, we help kids and teens turn big ideas into real creative projects — games, films, comics, animation and more. We teach practical skills in a friendly, focused environment, so young creators build confidence, learn how to think like makers, and leave with work they’re genuinely proud to share.

Our Story

PlayCraft began with a simple idea:
young people shouldn't just play in creative worlds -they should learn how to build them.

Today’s young people grow up surrounded by incredible creative media — films, games, animation, and graphic novels. But very few have the opportunity to learn how those worlds are actually built.

PlayCraft was created to change that.

We wanted to build a place where young creators could experiment, collaborate, and bring their ideas to life — whether that means directing a short film, designing a video game, animating characters, or creating their own comic.

From the very beginning, our focus has been simple:
give students the tools, guidance, and confidence to turn imagination into creation.

Every class and camp at PlayCraft is designed around that belief.

Founder/Eoghan's Story

Eoghan Garvey is a director and creative leader with over 18 years of experience working in film and television animation.

He is the co-founder of Little Moon Animation and the director of the award-winning children’s series Fia’s Fairies (RTÉjr) and The Scavengers (RTÉ Kids). Throughout his career, Eoghan has worked across a wide range of animated productions, from television series to feature films for major studios and global streaming platforms.

His credits include projects such as My Little Pony: A New Generation (Netflix), Scrooge: A Christmas Carol (Netflix), Vampirina (Disney Jr.), Doc McStuffins (Disney Jr.), and Octonauts (Nickelodeon), as well as work on an Oscar-nominated short film.

Alongside directing and overseeing CG animation at Little Moon Animation, Eoghan is passionate about helping the next generation of creators discover how the stories they love are actually made.

Through PlayCraft, he aims to give young creators the opportunity to learn the creative tools and storytelling skills behind filmmaking, animation, games, and comics — and to experience the excitement of bringing their own ideas to life.

How It's Run

Creativity is a skill — and kids learn it best by doing. So we built PlayCraft around these core ideas:

Project-Based Learning

Kids learn faster (and stay more motivated) when they’re building towards something real.

Small groups

Our kindergarten was founded with a loving vision: to create a happy, safe, and playful environment where young children could begin their learning journey with confidence.

Structure + encouragement

The best creative environments are both supportive and well-organised — with clear goals, patient teaching, and room to experiment.

A pathway that grows with them

Younger kids need confidence and foundations. Older kids often want challenge, craft and feedback. PlayCraft offers both — from beginner-friendly camps to studio-style weekly classes for teens.

Start Your Creative Journey

PlayCraft is more than a class — it's a creative community where young storytellers experiment, collaborate, and build amazing things together.
